Final Recovery Update: Wednesday November 21, 2012

posted Nov 21, 2012, 12:56 PM by Saltaire Volunteer Fire Company
The Fire Company has been in a state of readiness.  I'm proud of the hard work and dedication of our membership to help ensure the safety of the community.

We are well underway replacing the equipment and supplies that suffered water intrusion.  Our ambulance, pumpers and other vehicles are and have been ready to go. The attention of our members is getting back to the training and skills building that is a constant part of the fire and rescue service.

Fire remains our biggest hazard.  Please take care to follow the required actions and recommendations outlined by the Village Administration. Home electrical inspections are recommended even if your home doesn't have a red sticker.  Propane tanks floated freely during the storm, many of the copper tube connections feeding into the homes were damaged.  Please have them inspected prior to using propane gas.

Volunteers are always needed.  For more information please stop by and ask any member.

Finally, all of us at the Saltaire Volunteer Fire Company want to extend a special thank you to community members for their support.
