Kicking off 2014

As we begin 2014, the members of the Saltaire Volunteer Fire Company have set a busy schedule of training, recruiting and fund raising along with community education and interaction.
A culture of training continues to grow with the impressive training levels reached in 2013 setting the bar for 2014.
Our recruiting efforts are ongoing. Any resident or employee of the communities we serve is welcome to learn about volunteering and the powerful impact they can have on our community along with the camaraderie of the firehouse. Please don't hesitate to contact us at for information.
Two major vehicle replacements are in our future. While these are not imminent purchases for the Village, we don't want to 'kick the can down the road' leaving problems for others. Instead, we are collaborating with the Village Administration in planning future capital expenditures. The two vehicles, a pumper and the ambulance, have more life in them but planning is prudent.  Donations of $12,000 dedicated for the ambulance purchase have been received and a separate account created for such funds. Donations for either vehicle are warmly accepted.
We look forward to a great 2014!
